Mid-Year Enrollment: Join Wellspring During the School Year

If this school year is not working, you do not have to wait until next fall to change it. Wellspring Global Academy is a Cognia accredited online K-12 school with rolling admissions, which means your student can join during the school year and keep moving forward without losing ground.

Rolling Admissions, Any Time of Year

Wellspring offers rolling admissions, so students can enroll at any point throughout the year. Many families still align with August and January start dates, but the flexible, asynchronous model is built to accommodate mid-year transfers whenever they are needed. There is no single enrollment window you have to wait for.

  • Enroll mid-semester or between terms, whenever the need arises
  • Year-round enrollment with no rigid start dates
  • Coursework accessible on your family's own schedule

Because coursework blends scheduled live sessions with self-paced independent work, and recordings are available for any session a student cannot attend, a student who joins mid-unit can catch up on what they missed and move forward without gaps.

Common Reasons Families Make the Switch

Families move to Wellspring partway through the year for many reasons, and the flexible model is designed to meet each of them:

  • The current school is not the right academic fit, and waiting a full year is not an option.
  • A student has fallen behind after illness, a move, or a hard semester and needs a supported path back on track.
  • A student needs more flexibility for training, performances, travel, or managing a health condition.
  • A family has relocated and wants an education that stays consistent going forward.
  • A student needs a more supportive environment than their current school provides.

Whatever the reason, the enrollment path is the same, and the school is built to absorb new students at any point in the calendar.

Your Credits Come With You

A common worry about switching mid-year is whether credits will count. As of June 2026, Wellspring is fully accredited through Cognia, one of the most respected accrediting bodies in K-12 education, with recognition extended through its three divisions, NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI. Accreditation strengthens credit recognition, although receiving institutions always make their own transfer decisions. Your Educational Concierge team provides complete transcripts and documentation to make the transition smooth. If your student arrives with incomplete courses, the Credit Recovery program, also called the Academic Mastery Program, provides a self-paced path to fill the gaps, and recovered credits meet the same academic standards as all Wellspring coursework.

A Transition Plan From Day One

A mid-year start works best when someone manages the details. Every enrolled family is paired with a dedicated Educational Concierge who builds a transition plan to ensure academic continuity from day one. Your Concierge reviews your student's transcript, identifies what needs attention, sets up the right course levels, and stays involved throughout the year, coordinating with teachers and adjusting the plan as needed. Your Concierge is reachable by email and phone and prioritizes responding to families within one business day.

Where it helps, Wellspring may recommend a placement assessment in a specific subject, which informs the learning plan rather than determining admissions eligibility. There is no entrance exam standing between your family and a fresh start.

Enroll in a Few Simple Steps

Here is the full process, from first contact to day one:

  1. Submit your inquiry and an admissions specialist reaches out promptly.
  2. Complete the secure online enrollment application.
  3. Submit your documents, with help if anything is missing.
  4. Meet for a one-on-one admissions consultation.
  5. Confirm enrollment after receiving your first invoice.
  6. Meet your dedicated Educational Concierge and finalize the course plan.

Most enrollments are completed within three to five business days once all required documents are received. A one-time $50 application fee applies at enrollment and is credited toward your first month's tuition once enrollment is confirmed.

What You Will Need

Have these ready to keep the process moving:

  • Proof of student age and identity (birth certificate or passport)
  • Proof of residence (utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement)
  • Most recent academic records (report card or transcript)
  • Withdrawal form from the previous school, if transferring
  • Parent or guardian photo ID
  • Special education documentation if applicable (IEP, 504 plan, evaluation reports)

If a document is not immediately available, your admissions specialist will help identify alternatives, and families transferring from a homeschool program can provide whatever records they have.

What to Expect After You Enroll

Once enrollment is confirmed, your Educational Concierge guides onboarding, including course selection, platform setup, and schedule building, so the first week feels manageable rather than overwhelming. Students typically join two to four live sessions a day depending on grade level, with the rest of their time spent on independent coursework, projects, and collaborative activities. In the elementary years, parents serve as Learning Coaches who provide supervision and encouragement alongside the teaching team, and your Concierge helps calibrate the right level of involvement.

Joining mid-year does not mean joining alone. Students connect through live sessions, collaborative projects, virtual clubs, student government, advisory groups, and virtual events including lunch bunches. Because these activities are scheduled and teacher-supported, a new student has a structured place to land rather than having to break into established groups.

Funding Options to Make It Work

Wellspring offers several ways to make a mid-year move manageable, including need-based financial aid, merit scholarships, a sibling discount, a military and first responder discount, and Education Savings Account funding in Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, West Virginia, and New Hampshire. Families typically receive the single most beneficial discount or aid package rather than combining several. For current rates and details, visit the Tuition and Financial Aid page.

See It, Then Decide

If you would like to look before committing, attend a free Virtual Open House on the first and third Thursday of every month at noon CT (1 p.m. ET), where you can tour the platform, meet the team, and hear from current families. Sessions are recorded, and the admissions team is available for a one-on-one consultation at any time.

You can change your student's year right now. Contact the Wellspring admissions team or call (855) 733-1533 to start a mid-year enrollment and build a plan that begins the moment you are ready.
