High School (9-12) Frequently Asked Questions
Academics and Graduation
Wellspring Global Academy is currently in the active process of earning accreditation through Cognia, a nationally recognized accrediting body. We are working closely with Cognia and anticipate receiving full accreditation by the end of the current school year. This process reflects our commitment to maintaining high academic standards and continuous school improvement
Schedule and Flexibility
High school students typically participate in 3-4 live sessions daily, with the remainder of their time devoted to independent coursework, projects, research, and collaborative activities. Most students spend 5-6 hours on schoolwork daily, with significant flexibility in how they structure their independent work time.
Social and Extracurricular Opportunities
We foster community through interactive classes, student-led clubs, interest groups, collaborative projects, and virtual events. Many students appreciate that our model allows them to maintain local friendships and activities while developing new connections with like-minded peers across geographic boundaries.
Technology and Resources
High school students need a reliable computer with high-speed internet access, webcam, and microphone. We recommend a desktop or laptop rather than a tablet for more complex coursework. Specific software requirements are minimal, as most applications are web-based or provided by the school.
College Preparation
Families are guided with the expertise of our counselors, and students can select from our standard curriculum options or various Dual Credit and Advanced Placement pathways. Your Educational Concierge will help share the courses offered for each upcoming school year so you can find the right pathway for your student.
Support and Success
We provide comprehensive support including teacher office hours, tutoring sessions, peer study groups, academic coaching, and specialized assistance in challenging subjects. Your Educational Concierge helps coordinate appropriate support and ensures that your student has the resources needed for success.
Career and Future Preparation
Our Career-Connected Learning program bridges classroom learning with real-world applications through career exploration, industry projects, virtual internships, and professional mentorships. Students develop workplace skills, explore potential career paths, and build professional portfolios that give them advantages in college applications and future employment.
